Ghost stories your body might be telling you (and how to set your spirit free)
As the veil thins and spooky season creeps in, it’s not just haunted houses that hold old energy — sometimes, your pelvic floor does too.
Before you roll your eyes at the idea of a “haunted pelvis,” hear me out…Your body stores stories. Every stress, every emotion you’ve tucked away, every “I’ll deal with it later” — it all has a home somewhere in your tissues.
And for many women, that place is the pelvic floor — the root of our power, creativity, and safety.
So, in the spirit of Halloween, let’s talk about a few haunted tales of the pelvic floor — and how to lift the ghosts for good.

The Tale of the Tight Grip Ghost
You know her — she’s the overachiever, the go-go-go woman who’s always holding it together.Until she realizes she’s also literally holding everything together — in her jaw, her shoulders, and yes, her pelvic floor.
This ghost shows up as:
A feeling of tension or heaviness
Pain with intimacy
Constipation or bladder urgency
Low back or hip discomfort
She’s the ghost of control and overwork, whispering “stay tense, stay safe.”But here’s the secret: your pelvic floor doesn’t need to be tighter — it needs to be softer.
To banish this ghost:Breathe deeply into your belly.Practice gentle pelvic drops instead of constant engagement. And let yourself exhale — physically and emotionally.
The Curse of the Forgotten Core
Once upon a time, your core and pelvic floor were best friends. Then life happened — long hours sitting, postpartum changes, stress, or simply not knowing how to reconnect — and the two lost touch.
Now, your low back aches, your posture feels off, and your energy dips.
This haunting is the result of disconnection, not weakness.
To break the curse:Start small — place your hands on your lower belly and breathe, feeling the gentle rise and fall.Add awareness before intensity. Reconnection begins with presence, not planks.
The Phantom of Ignored Emotions
This ghost is sneaky. She’s the one who hides behind “I’m fine.”She stores unprocessed emotions — grief, shame, anger, fear — deep in the hips and pelvis.
When we ignore her long enough, she starts to speak louder: through discomfort, tightness, or disconnection.
To release her:Allow space for feeling. Movement, breathwork, and somatic practices help emotions move through rather than get stuck in the body.Your pelvic floor is a messenger — not a monster.
The Enchanted Ending
The truth is: your pelvic floor doesn’t need an exorcism — it needs attention. When you tune in with curiosity instead of fear, you start to see these “hauntings” for what they really are — calls for connection, softness, and healing.
This season, let the cobwebs fall away.Reclaim your roots. Reconnect to your body’s wisdom.Because your body isn’t haunted — it’s holy.
