ABOUT EMPOWERED FOUNDATIONS

I believe in practicing a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy. I have never given the same treatment twice, because it's entirely individualized. I believe that receiving therapeutic touch and bodywork is one of the most important of aspects of healing. I am passionate about normalizing conversations about pelvic and sexual health and educating and empowering women in our community. Please allow me to show you how to create support systems, rediscover your own body, use your daily activities to strengthen your core and pelvic floor - and heal.
Nice to Meet You!
My Story
I was experiencing pelvic pain several years ago and was worried about what was going on and why I was experiencing pain. I attended pelvic floor physical therapy for a while and was fascinated by the specialty: the treatment techniques and seemingly more obscure knowledge related to these taboo areas of our health (peeing, pooping, and sex) and how “normal” it was to talk about it. I have had other pelvic/abdominal health issues in my life and have been mostly taken aback by the approach to women’s healthcare: how we aren’t listened to, how we are given medical options as bandaids for the issues instead of searching for the deeper root causes and treating those, how we aren’t told the consequences of medical decisions that we make, how those decisions are sometimes made for us, how we are touched quickly and roughly. I want to listen and hear my clients’ stories. This is so important to me to help them dissect the contributing factors to their symptoms in order to help them solve the mystery and figure out the puzzle. I also want them to know what all of their options are and to provide therapeutic touch that is careful, gentle and respectful.
